Turbeville Children's Home is presently in need of a married couple to work with teen boys. Houseparents are responsible to provide daily nurturing and care of each child: teaching the children life skills and being a Christian role model. This is promoted by building a relationship with the children and serving the best interest of each child and of the dorm group. The following describes the typical successful Houseparent: high-energy, organizational and time-management skills, flexible to changing needs and situations, team-member attitude, dedicated to work with children of a diverse population and needs. Houseparents work a two week on and one week off schedule.MISSION: Our mission is to provide a Christian home for children. We are committed to serving the needs of children and to providing services and opportunities that will enhance the total well-being of every child - mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The selection or employment of people that share our mission and vision is crucial.
TYPICAL HOUSEPARENT DUTIES:* Supervision of chores and laundry; home cleanliness, neatness and organization is a daily process.* Exercises the responsibility to help the children with social, emotional, spiritual and educational goals.* Weekly life skills training and character development are taught for developmental growth and to prepare the teenagers for independence.* Meet the physical and material needs of each child in their care, such as administering prescriptions, appointment transportation needs, purchasing clothing, * Correction/discipline of children is the responsibility of the Houseparent, following the TCH discipline plan.* Documentation includes weekly Houseparent Reports per child, discipline and incident reports as needed.

* High school diploma or GED * 21 years old or older * Valid SC driver's license (driving record will be checked) * Pass background checks, drug screen and fingerprinting * Medical screening including a Tb test
