FULL-TIME LIFE SKILLS SPECIALIST
Responsible for providing safe, nurturing and optimal learning environment for abused/neglected children. Life Skills Specialist work in a structured, home-like environment and are responsible for providing emotional, physical, and intellectual counseling to clients.

Assists with timely, thorough and objective documentation of staff interventions and benefits of all activities.
· Initiates and ensures completion of all activities related to maintenance of resident schedules including completion of chores, laundry, food service/meals.
· Participates in meetings and minimally obtains required training such as CPR, First Aid, and Prevention of Disease Transmission-Blood borne Pathogens. Must obtain CPI certification. Attends other related trainings in accordance with CYDC and DSS requirements.
· Must possess the ability to make sound decisions based on CYDC policies and guidelines and weigh all the factors of good judgment. The decision could involve the protection and welfare of a child responding to change
Job Reports To:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, or a related human services field is preferred. Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid SC driver’s license and good driving record.
