Kimberly (Kim) Beaudoin
Kimberly Beaudoin joined the Palmetto Association for Children and Families on August 28, 2019, in the role of Director of Member Relations. Kim has an extensive career of 28 years in the field of service delivery and administration of programs for children and families, and adults across both North and South Carolina. She began her career right here in Columbia with Babcock Center after graduating from the University of South Carolina with a major in Psychology and a minor in Social Work. She spent several years working in ICF facilities as a QDDP and progressed to a Clinical Manager, including opening new ICF programs in North Carolina. As her work opportunities expanded, Kim worked for an Area Authority (now MCO) in North Carolina, and during this same time she went back to school and pursued her Masters in Counseling at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. She began her tenure with the Area Authority over multiple residential programs, and was eventually asked to assume responsibility for Quality Assurance monitoring for all contracted residential providers. At the end of her almost 10 years with the Area Authority Kim was ultimately responsible for all services to children and families, including Early Intervention, Outpatient Therapy, Integrated Day Care, Developmental Day Centers, and Day Treatment Centers.
In 2004 Kim decided to branch out and start her own provider agency with a business partner. For over 14 years, Kim was a managing partner over an agency that provided services to children with mental health, developmental disabilities and/ or substance use disorders and their families. The services ranged from Early Intervention, Diagnostic Assessment and Outpatient Therapy including contracted School Based Therapy, community-based services such as Intensive In-Home and residential services with a 4 bed Level III group home for adolescent females. During the 14 years of running her business, Kim gained valuable experience with writing and securing grants; successfully responding to Request for Proposals and securing new services for her agency with the local school system and the county Department of Juvenile Justice; took the agency through the arduous process of becoming a CABHA (Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency) in North Carolina, and guided her agency successfully through 3 year ongoing accreditation with CARF starting in 2009.
